I’ve watched fathers rehearse speeches they swore they wouldn’t cry through. I’ve watched mothers quietly straighten a veil before anyone noticed. I’ve watched grandparents hold hands during the ceremony because, after decades together, they still reach for one another.
I’ve watched best friends laugh until they couldn’t breathe.
